Geoffrey Beach was born in Sale / Altrincham, Cheshire in 1939 and educated in schools in Perry Barr, Sutton Coldfield and finally at Handsworth Grammar School, Birmingham. In 1958 he went to Manchester University and read Metallurgy and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Metallurgy. At University he was active in the Anglican Society and the University Rifle Club.
In 1961 he joined James Booth Aluminium at Kitts Green, Birmingham and worked on Hot Rolling, Cold Rolling processes and Heavy Die Forging at the plant near Cape Hill,Smethwick.
In 1962 Geoffrey H Beach and Carol Ann Jones were married at Emmanuel Church, Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield.
On Good Friday 1963 Geoffrey and Carol were received into the Catholic Church, at the Abbey, Erdington, Birmingham.
In 1965 Geoffrey Beach moved into the Copper Semis Industry working for Barker & Allen / Enfield Rolling Mills at Heath Street, Winson Green and Imperial Metal Industries at Witton, Birmingham, working in Technical as well as project and manufacturing roles in Rolling, Extrusion and Extrusion Ingot Casting.He worked for IMI until 1980, before moving to Thomas Bolton & Sons at Froghall, Stoke on Trent, as Copper Refinery and Hot Rolling / Extrusion Production Manager.
Stephen was born in 1963, Helen in 1964 and Daniel in 1973, all in the Birmingham area.
Geoffrey Beach was a one time Parish Councillor on Water Orton Parish Council, and a joint organiser of the local rail closure protest group.
Geoffrey Beach was on the PTA Committee of Bishop Walsh School, Sutton Coldfield.
In 1984 Geoffrey Beach joined Alcan Extrusions at Banbury as Technical Manager and became Remelt Production and Technical Manager.
Thomas was born in 1985.
In 1988 the family left Banbury and moved to Meidrim, near Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire and developed a pig breeding unit, with the expertise of Stephen, and Geoffrey Beach joined Alcoa Extrusions at Waunarlwydd, Swansea as Quality Assurance Manager. He worked there until redundancy in 1992. The pig breeding enterprise was discontinued in 1993. Geoffrey, Carol and Thomas moved to Caerphilly in 1994, following Geoffrey's appointment as Manufacturing Manager to Hydro Aluminium's Remelt (Alumelt) at Bedwas, and Stephen returned to the pig breeding industry. This appointment at Hydro lasted until 1995, and subsequently the business was closed.
In 1995 Geoffrey H Beach joined the 'Jubilee Line Extension' Project, working for Drake and Scull at Canary Wharf, London in a Production Engineering / Metallurgist / Quality Assurance Role.
In 1997 Geoffrey H Beach joined Alcan Rolled Products at Rogerstone, Newport, Gwent, where he was employed until June 2005, and part time until July 2006.
In 1997 - 2001 Geoffrey Beach was a Parent Governor for Cardinal Newman School at Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd.
In 2003 Commenced training for the Permanent Diaconate in the Archdiocese of Cardiff, training at Wonersh, Guildford, Surrey.
In 2006 appointed part time Chaplain to Cardinal Newman School at Rhydyfelin, Pontypridd.
On 24th June 2006, ordained Permanent Deacon by the Archbishop of Cardiff, Peter Smith, in
St David's Cathedral, Cardiff.
